URINE SCREENING LOCATIONS

Urine screening is required by IDRP/CRASH as part of the counseling Treatment Plan. Tests should check for the following substances: Alcohol, Cannabis, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Amphetamines, Ecstasy and Opiates.

When required to get a urine drug screen clients have essentially two options:

1) Option 1: Clients can obtain a doctor's order for a urine screen from their primary care physician. This has no or limited financial cost to the patient but becomes part of the medical record. Be it obtaining Life Insurance or otherwise, there can be a downside to that;

2)  Option 2: Clients can self-pay to obtain a urine drug screen from an urgent care center or lab usually on a walk-in basis.

The direct metabolite of ethanol alcohol is Ethyl Glucuronide (EtG) which can be used as a bio-marker for ethanol exposure. When alcohol is consumed our bodies metabolize it into ETG which can be detectable as soon as 2 hours and up to 80 hours after consumption.
